Bristol City have arranged a busy summer of away fixtures against lower league opposition. There are hopes to arrange a few home fixtures against higher profile opponents. Given the closeness of some of the games expect Gary Johnson to play his “first and second first teams” in the fixtures, hopefully with some fresh additions to the squad.


Forest Green Rovers (A), The New Lawn, Saturday, July 12th

Yeovil Town (A), Huish Park, Monday, July 21st

Hereford United (A), Edgar Street, Tuesday, July 22nd

Bournemouth (A), Fitness First Stadium, Saturday, July 26th

Cheltenham (A), Whaddon Road, Tuesday, July 29th



The Carling Cup first round draw will take place on Friday, June 13th at 10am – the details will be revealed first on bcfc.co.uk. The draw is split into Northern and Southern sections with teams seeded according to league position. City will be one of the seeded teams and are likely to draw a team from League Two, or a team that finished low down in League One (maybe even our saggy neighbours?


On Monday 16th June the new Championship fixtures are revealed on bcfc.co.uk. at 10am.


Vital Bristol City will endeavour to publish the same information but we are subject to the over-restrictive data rights of the Football League. I will cherry pick some of the more iinteresting fixtures so let me know which ones you want to hear about.
