Preston North End manager Graham Westley is set to hold talks with City manager Derek McInnes about the possibility of getting a loan extension for defender Jamie McAllister.

The 33-year-old has been at Deepdale for a month, he went there to improve his match fitness after failing to make it into the first team at Ashton Gate since McInnes took over.

McAllister had been suffering with an ankle injury earlier in the season and he missed the last game of his loan period with Preston due to a hamstring injury, but Westley is still interested.

The left-back had been sidelined by an ankle injury earlier in the campaign and Westley aims to hold talks with McInnes to discuss McAllister’s situation.

‘Jamie had a fitness test on Saturday morning but didn’t make it,’ said Westley in the Lancashire Evening Post.

‘It was disappointing to lose a player of his experience so late in the day.

‘With his loan, we have agreed to have a conversation with his club and him, and we’ll make a decision from there.’
