Bristol City ended their mini tour of Sweden with a convincing 11-1 victory over Vallens IF.

City may have been playing the weakest of the three sides, but it was a pretty good way of bouncing back from a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Helsingborgs on Thursday.

On the score sheet were John Akinde who bagged an hat trick, two each for David Clarkson and Ivan Sproule and also grabbing a goal each were John O’Flynn, Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Marlon Jackson and Albert Adomah.

Speaking to the club`s official website, Steve Coppell said: ‘I didn’t want to play the two harder matches first (versus Gothenburg and Helsingborgs). I don’t like getting beaten at this stage in the season.

‘It gave us a little bit of a wake-up call though in terms of pushing ourselves on.

‘Have I got everything I wanted out of the tour? I suppose I have, perhaps 90 per cent. The real test comes in three Saturdays time when we entertain Millwall at Ashton Gate.’
