Everton manager David Moyes is said to be very interested in acquiring the services of striker Nicky Maynard from Bristol City in January.
Everton need someone who can score on a regular basis and reports have it that Maynard is the ideal option for the Toffees as he wont command a fee in the high millions that Everton cannot afford.
It wasn`t so long ago that Everton were looking at Jermaine Defoe, but Moyes` head has been turned towards the Championship and the goalscoring exploits of Maynard.
City are hoping to get the striker who has seven goals this season to commit to a new contract with the club, but so far there has been no success.
If the Robins were to sell up in January, then they have a valuation of around £6 million that interested clubs would have to match.
