Set Back For Unlucky Vokes

On-loan striker Sam Vokes has had another set back as he tries to get ready for a return to first team football.

The 21 year old had to be taken off after just 18 minutes of play in a reserve game against Cheltenham Town on Wednesday.

Great care is going to have to be taken with the player who suffered a hamstring injury on the first day of the season.

‘It’s been a nightmare loan for Sam and for us because we know how good a player he can be,’ City boss Keith Millen told the club’s official website.

‘There’s clearly something wrong there and he needs to get himself fully fit again. He’s on loan until January 5 and it’s unlikely he will be fit enough for the first-team before then.’
