Bristol City are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Korey Smith in the two nil victory over Queens Park Rangers at the weekend at Ashton Gate was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Smith was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Smith delivered an all-action showing in Bristol City`s 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers at Ashton Gate. The 26-year-old stood out in central midfield, but also impressed filling in at right-back during a tactical reshuffle following Nathan Baker`s sending off.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Smith for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Craig MacGillivray (Shrewsbury Town), Dan Potts (Luton Town), Ronnie Henry (Stevenage), Matt Doherty (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Ryan Sessegnon (Fulham), David Worrall (Port Vale), Korey Smith (Bristol City), Jamie Devitt (Carlisle United), Marc Richards (Swindon Town), Coady McDonald (Wimbledon), Tom Eaves (Gillingham).

Manager – Chris Powell (Southend United).
