Sorry City Ragged By Blackpool

Bristol City`s nightmare continued at Blackpool on Saturday, after throwing away the points on Tuesday, they simply handed them over to Blackpool, all that was missing was a tip.

Dean Gerken was back in the side after the other clown that passes as a keeper at Ashton Gate put in a clownshoes performance.

The Seasiders on the other hand had brought in a player in who looked like he wanted to help his team get three points not hinder them, I`m talking of course about loan signing Jonjo Shelvey.

He was up for the game, early on he fired a free kick into the wall and then gave Gerken a warning with a shot from distance that went just wide of the upright.

At the other end Albert Adomah made himself a shooting chance but his effort went over the bar.

There was plenty of good football about but neither goalkeeper had much to do until the 37th minute when Gerken had a chance to shine, he managed to stop a shot from the ever lively Shelvey but couldn`t hang onto it, Taylor-Fletcher swooped on the chance and had the ball in the net as sharp as you like.

Adomah thought he had levelled the scores almost straight away, and it would have been a great goal had it not been offside.

Then the home keeper made a superb stop to deny Pitman his third in three games.

The sides took to the field for the second half and Martyn Woolford and Jordan Spence were on instead of Campbell-Ryce and McGivern.

Phillips was the next to have a go, he went through on goal but his effort was wide and the visitors struck back with a strike from Kilkenny that Gilks saved brilliantly once again.

Shelvey then showed why he had been drafted into the side when from a free kick he fizzed a shot in low and Gerken stood no hope.

Then towards the end of the game, the home side took full advantage of City`s tiredness. Ormerod sent over a cross for Bogdanovic to slot home with seven minutes left.

Then a short corner from Shelvey was crossed in by Ferguson and Ormerod did the rest in stoppage time.

That looked to be it but the home side struck yet again through Bogdanovic.

Great day to be a Robin.
