Ivan Sproule has held talks with former club Hibernian about a return to the SPL when his City contract expires next month.
The 30-year-old winger left Easter Road to join the newly-promoted Robins back in 2007 and was reportedly in the Scottish capital to speak with Hibs manager Colin Calderwood yesterday.
Sproule was in line for a Hibs return in January but the Scottish club baulked at paying a fee, preferring instead to wait until the summer when they could take him for free.
“Hibs asked for permission to speak to Ivan and I agreed it would be okay for him to go up there for a couple of days,” Millen told the Daily Record.
“He has been a very good servant to us and I want to give him all the help I can in finding another club.”
The Northern Irish international is a firm favourite with Hibs fans who remember him fondly for a hat-trick against Rangers in 2005 and as part of the Leauge Cup winning team of 2007.
