City will be heading to Sweden on our pre-season tour this summer.

The Robins are set to play friendlies against top Swedish teams as part of the three-game tour in early July.

Although dates have yet to be confirmed, it is thought that the games will be against former UEFA Cup winners IFK Gothenburg, Halmstads and Vallen.

Gaffer Steve Coppell told the club website: “It’s a popular tour location of mine, one I’ve done many times.

“I go to Sweden because they’re in mid-season and matches are against teams possibly not technically as good as us, but fitness-wise they are ahead of us.

“Physically it’s a challenge. It’s away so you can possibly experiment with a few things.

“If the objective on tour was to win games then you probably wouldn’t train much. Hopefully the players will be overloaded, training and playing more than they would do in normal circumstances.

“It’s a lovely country, with fabulous food and great conditions. It’s a nice place to be in the summer.”

This will be City’s first pre-season tour since the visit to Latvia in July 2007.
