Bristol City’s bid for Aden Flint has been unsuccessful again after Swindon Town rejected the offer.

Swindon are looking to keep the player at the County Ground and took up the option of a twelve month extension written into his current deal.

But the centre back is not happy there and put in a formal transfer request, that was turned down along with City’s offer.

Manager Sean O’Driscoll revealed to BBC Radio Bristol: ‘We’ve put in an offer that got rejected, so we’re just contemplating whether we increase the offer or look elsewhere.

‘He’d be somebody we feel that would fill the right centre-half gap that seems to have been a problem since Steven Caulker left. He’s a good age and someone we think we can develop further.’
