Bristol City utility man Cole Skuse has hailed the impact Paul Hartley’s had on the club since his arrival from Celtic in the summer.

Hartley turned down several other approaches before signing for City and has played an instrumental role in helping us to fifth in the league.

Local-boy Skuse has been with City since he was a lad and is delighted to have someone of Hartley’s experience around the place.

“Hartley is a top man,” Skuse said. “Having him around the place really helps a lot.

“He’s played in the Champions League, been there and done it, and he’s a great lad off the pitch.

“It’s great we have been able to attract a player like that. If you’d have said we’d be signing someone like him five or six years ago then you wouldn’t have believed it.”

Hopefully Skuse’s sentiments will make manager Gary Johnson see sense and build the team around the talismanic Scottish international.
