City have announced that Glasgow Rangers striker Andrius Velicka is set to join on a season-long loan.

The 30-year old target man is currently in Bristol undergoing a medical and will be an interested spectator at Ashton Gate for tomorrow’s visit of Crystal Palace.

Manager Gary Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: “We’re interested in Andrius and, subject to the medical and agreeing the final draft of the loan with Rangers, he will be joining us for the season.

The Robins hope to have Velicka on board for Tuesday’s home game with QPR.

The striker’s signature ends City’s hunt to replace Dele Adebola, who joined Forest in the summer.

Velicka possesses 20 caps for his country and has previously represented Norwegian side Viking FK and Hearts, before joining the Glasgow giants last year.
