Sheffield United showed Bristol City how it was done as they romped to a 3-0 victory at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

The home side grabbed all the points and climbed over a sorry looking City in the table after John Brayford opened the scoring before good work from Ryan Flynn and Jamie Murphy doubled the advantage.

Then Jose Baxter made sure there was no way back for the visitors when he fired home from the penalty spot.

City hardly made their mark on the game and it was the type of performance that will see the club drop into the basement league unless it is address very quickly.

The Blades dominated the opening period and the only surprise in the game was that it took them until a couple of minutes before half time before they got the break they needed.

Beside’s an Elliott shot that went wide of the target, it was all Sheffield United and City struggled to keep them out.

Aden Flint cleared off the line after Murphy caused Simon Moore into making a mistake as they both went for a high ball and soon after that Flynn went close with a shot from a tight angle.

Harry Maguire should have put the home side in front when he fired at goal but JET got himself in the way of his effort and blocked.

Brayford, on loan from Cardiff, was the man who fired United in front when Baxter’s corner was flicked on by Maguire.

The visitors could have gone further in front through Bob Harris, but Moore made the save.

But he was little more than a bystander when Murphy went past Karleigh Osborne who found Flynn who finished from the edge of the box.

Then Osborne’s nightmare was complete when he fouled Flynn in the box and Baxter converted from twelve yards.
