Wolves Beat Abysmal City

Another poor display saw Bristol City slip to another defeat, this time they were hammered 4-1 by Wolves on their own patch.

Wolves were in a state when they arrived at Ashton Gate, they had not won in nine games and pressure was mounting on manager Stale Solbakken.

However, by the time they departed they must have felt ten foot tall after being given a moral boosting win like they got today from a Bristol City side that look like they have packed in for Christmas holidays.

Well after they found themselves 4-0 down by the half time whistle, there were not too many City fans wanting to wish them a merry one.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Bjorn Sigurdarson and a Kevin Doyle brace made City look second class, while all they could manage for themselves was an 85th minute Neil Danns effort which was of course not enough, no matter that it was of a different class than we are used to of late.

With no clean sheet to their name so far this season it was hardly surprising that the Robins fell behind in this game, the opening goal came after 20 minutes, Ebanks-Blake claiming his first goal in nine outings when he steered a volley from Stephen Ward goal wards and beat Heaton in the City goal.

Four minutes later and it was 2-0, simple goal with Sigurdarson crossing for Doyle to bundle the ball over the line.

It was soon 3-0 when Doyle struck again, this time he picked the ball up in his own half and ran at the Bristol goal before slotting home while the defence just stood around.

And just a minute before half-time, Sigurdarson grabbed the fourth after Ebanks-Blake teed him up.

Wolves then declared at four, but it could have been seven or eight before Dann’s low drive with five minutes of the game left gave City… Well, nothing really.
