Keith Millen is willing to blood Academy graduates James Wilson and Joe Edwards before the end of the season.

The defensive duo could come into contention for the remaining four games of the season, if Millen spies any of his players eyeing their summer holidays.

Both Wilson and Edwards have featured on the bench in recent weeks and the City boss is considering have a look at them from the start.

“If I feel they are ready, then of course I will consider them,’ Millen told the Bristol Evening Post.

“Joe Edwards (full-back) has been on the bench quite a lot recently and made his debut at Preston in February. He is ready if needed.

“James Wilson (centre-back) has been out for a very long time through injury, but is back training now and has looked match-fit in the last couple of reserve games.

“I would like to get those two a little bit more involved before the end of the season. If the players who have the shirts at present are not performing, I will have no concerns about putting the young lads in there.

“I want to pick my strongest eleven for every game but, if I feel it is right to rest someone, it gives me the chance to bring one or two in.”

With nothing but pride to play before now and the end of the season, games against Sheffield United, Forest, Derby and Hull could be the perfect time to have a look of the youngsters in competitive action ahead of next season.
