Bristol City are represented in the latest League Cup team of the round that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Nathan Baker in the first round tie between Bristol City and Plymouth was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the League Cup competition.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Baker was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the EFL Cup blurb read.

‘It`s hard to pick just one player to make the cut after Bristol City`s 5-0 thumping of Plymouth Argyle, but Baker gets the nod after netting on his second debut for the club, and helping keep the Pilgrims at bay throughout.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Baker for his recognition, but the most important thing was of course the win.

Full Team:

Jed Steer (Aston Villa), Nathan Baker (Bristol City), Mark Ellis (Carlisle United), Denis Odoi (Fulham), Mauro Vilhete (Barnet), Samu Saiz (Leeds United), James Maddison (Norwich City), Billy Bodin (Bristol Rovers), Mohamed Eisa (Cheltenham Town), Che Adams (Birmingham City), Shawn McCoulsky (Newport County).

Manager – John Coleman (Accrington Stanley).
