BRISTOL CITY v QPR PREVIEW

Bristol City aim to maintain their perfect home record this season as they host QPR this evening at Ashton Gate. City have not lost at home in 2009 while in contrast, QPR have not won away in their last nine league games.

Gary Johnson will be keen to put the controversy of Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace behind him as he attempts to beat a side that he has not defeated during his stay in the Championship.

Liam Fontaine should be fit after a slight knock which saw Cole Skuse deputise at centre back on Saturday but there are doubts over Louis Carey’s fitness after picking up an injury in the same game.

Danny Haynes is due to return from suspension and, after confirming the loan signing of Hearts striker Andrius Velicka, the Lithuanian goes straight into the squad and he could get his debut at home for the Robins.

A win for City would do wonders for their confidence, particularly after the bashing we have received in the press over the last few days.

It would also help to build on improving our home form after the high frequency of draws that saw our league form stagnate last season.

In other news, should Lewis Nyatanga start he will be celebrating his 21st birthday, so from all at Vital Bristol City – happy birthday!

City (from): Gerken, Basso, Nyatanga, McCombe, Carey, Fontaine, McAllister, Orr, Blackman, Skuse, Hartley, Johnson, Williams, Elliott, Sproule, Clarkson, Maynard, Haynes, Velicka.
