City captain Louis Carey enhanced his legendary status at Ashton Gate by moving up to second place on the all-time list of City appearances.

Carey, 33, finished the season at Blackpool on Sunday by making his 583rd appearance in Red and White, passing Trevor Tainton (581) in the process.

After making his debut away at York City in 1994-95, the local lad has been a virtual ever-present despite spending six months at Coventry in 2004.

The only man in his way now is the great John Atyeo who made 645 appearances between 1951-66.

Well done Lou!
