Bristol City have appointed Lee Kendall as their new goalkeeping coach.

The 32 year old, who was Cardiff City’s academy coach, will take over at City when Nigel Spink leaves the post on 1st June.

City’s former number one keeper Tom Heaton recommended Kendall to the club before leaving for Burnley at the end of the season.

Sean O’Driscoll told the club’s official website: ‘He knows John Pemberton from the Sheffield United academy and comes highly-recommended by a number of people in the game, as well as our former keeper Tom Heaton, who worked with Lee at Cardiff.

‘Lee reflects the type of player we want to bring to the club. He is young, enthusiastic, inquisitive and innovative.’
