Chris McCann stole all the points for Burnley deep into stoppage time of this exciting seven goal thriller at Ashton Gate on Tuesday night.

City came from behind a couple of times in the game and it looked for all the world that Paul Anderson had given the home side a share of the points when he netted with time up in the second half.

But the referee added three quarters of an hour injury time and Burnley were able to once again take advantage of some woeful defending by grabbing a winner through Kieran Tripper in the sixth minute of added on time.

Charlie Austin was a player that City should have been keeping a close eye on to stop him scoring in his eighth consecutive game, but he was able to give the Robin’s defence the slip and open the scoring on nine minutes.

But City soon fought back and were level through a Steven Davies free kick.

Then as the home side began to get on top, Burnley broke twice and took full advantage, Austin grabbed another after Mark Wilson handled in the box and then Martin Paterson had a shot deflected into the net to put the Dingles two in front at 3-1.

A Sam Baldock penalty and the equaliser from Anderson led to a frantic finish and McCann made sure that temporary manager Terry Pashley got his second win from two games in charge.
