High-flying Rotherham United visit Ashton Gate this weekend and City are going to have to find some form to be able to grab the points.

Rotherham currently occupy the final playoff spot in the table and are looking good to finish in the top six at the end of the season.

But the Millers have slipped up slightly in the last week, while they are doing well in the league; they have just been knocked out of the FA Cup at the hands of Rochdale while Fleetwood Town ended Steve Evans’ side’s interest in the Johnstones Paint Trophy.

Their last two league games however have seen them beat Coventry City 3-0 at Sixfields and they followed that with a 4-1 home win over Gillingham.

Bristol City’s new boss Steve Cotterill takes charge of his first league game and first home game since he took over and he has Bobby Reid available after the midfielder came out of the under 21 game in midweek with no injury problems.

Simon Gillett and Stephen McLaughlin can come back into the side; they missed out on the game at Tamworth last weekend as they were both cup-tied.

Cotterill is also likely to stick with Sam Baldock and Ryan Taylor up front with Jay Emmanuel-Thomas playing behind the pairing.

As far as the Millers are concerned they will be keeping a close eye on defender Joe Skarz who missed the defeat at the hands of Fleetwood last time out, he is suffering from a thigh problem.

Mark Bradley, who went off at half-time with a groin injury, should be back in the side and also looking to be involved will be Pablo Mills (leg), while David Worrall (groin), Rob Milsom (back) and Michael O’Connor (thigh), they have all been taking part in more intense training.

Midfielder Michael Tidser returns to the squad after serving a one game suspension.
