City have completed the signing of Sam Vokes on loan from Wolves until 5 January 2011.

The highly-rated striker, 20, trained with his new team-mates for the first time on Thursday and goes straight into the squad to face Millwall on Saturday.

“It’s a great move for me and there’s no better place than this to come,” Vokes told the City website.

“It’s a great club to be at and hopefully I’ll get some goals along the way.

“I’ve got three years left on my contract at Wolves. This is a chance for me to play some games and hopefully impress the management at Bristol City, we’ll have to see how the loan goes.”

Wolves pipped City to the post when signing the Wales striker from Bournemouth in 2008.

Meanwhile, trialist Tom Williams has signed a six-month contract with the club after impressing City boss Steve Coppell over pre-season. He joins on a free transfer and will provide cover for Jamie McAllister at left-back.
