City’s caretaker boss Keith Millen could be poised to swoop for a loan defender.

Millen’s short of number’s at the back with left-back Jamie McAllister (calf) joining Liam Fontaine (ankle) on the sidelines after Saturday’s draw with Newcastle.

With both rated doubtful for tomorrow’s visit of Barnsley, Millen has been given the nod to bring someone in.

Speaking to bcfc.co.uk, Millen explained: “There is an option of bringing in another player, we are a little bit short at the back there so that is something me and the chairman have spoken about and he’s given me his full backing, so that’s good so we’ll assess that.

“I don’t want to change too much if I can help it because the squad on Saturday showed the spirit and pride that is going to be needed now.”

The deadline for emergency loan’s runs out on Thursday.
