Paul Hartley has finalised his move to Aberdeen and has immediately been handed the club’s captain’s armband.
Hartley has signed a two-year deal at Pittodrie after a move to Hearts fell through on Monday and moves on a free transfer.
Dons boss Mark McGhee said: “He will be a big, big asset. He is a quality player and a quality individual.
“Paul brings more than just the performance on the Saturday. I think everyone in the squad was excited when he arrived at the training ground. They all know Paul is a popular player in Scotland.”
The 33-year-old was a virtual ever-present for the City last season, scoring five goals in the process.
But with his family still being in Scotland, a return north of the border was always a likely move.
