Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cotterill heaped praise on City keeper David James after the 0-0 draw at Ashton Gate on Saturday.

The 41-year-old was in fine form to stop whatever Forest threw at City and that was topped by a quite brilliant save an effort from Marcus Tudgay that had goal written all over it in the 77th minute.

Tudgay himself stood in disbelief at the save he had just witnessed.

Cotterill said: ‘If it hadn’t been for David James we might have won by three of four goals. I won’t say what I called him as we were leaving the field.

‘He has been magnificent today. Marcus Tudgay could easily be walking away with the match ball for scoring a hat-trick.

‘We have failed to score again, but not through poor finishing. And there were a lot of positives for us.

‘We always looked the side more likely to win the game. We could easily have taken seven points, if not all nine, from our last three games and sooner or later we hope our results start to match our performances.’
