Bristol City manager Gary Johnson is pleased with the way things are going now as far as pre-season games go, especially after beating Wolves 2-0 recently.
Johnson`s side had a shaky start to their pre-season campaign by losing to Ajax, but the disappointment was wiped away after a good performance against last season`s Championship winners.
‘I feel we’ve at least caught up a little bit,’ he told the Bristol Evening Post.
‘I now consider us to be in a strong position for this time in pre-season.
‘We were given a lesson by Ajax but I did say at the time we were still fairly new to the season and they were quite some way ahead of us in terms of fitness.
‘A week in pre-season is quite a long time and the Wolves game was a good one for us because our players all gelled and showed what they can do. It was exactly what we needed.’
