Keeper Deal On Agenda

City caretaker Keith Millen says that we will be bringing in another keeper at some point over the close season.

With Basso and now Collis moving on in recent months, City are left with only Dean Gerken and Stephen Henderson for next term.

“We will be looking at bringing in a goalkeeper,” Millen told the club’s website.

“Dean Gerken’s had a good season and Hendo came in and showed what he can do. Hendo’s still a young lad though so we’re one short in that department.”

Millen also admitted that the rebuilding won’t be stopping there.

“We’re making a lot of phonecalls and we’ve discussed names of people we are interested in,” said Millen, who will resume duties as Steve Coppell’s assistant on Monday.

“You’d love to get movement and new signings done in the next couple of weeks but often it doesn’t happen that way in football.

“The squad is smaller but we’d prefer to add quality and not have too many numbers this year. We ended up with a big squad last season.

“Steve will have his ideas of how many players will be coming in.”
