As you would expect, Norwich manager Paul Lambert was absolutely delighted with his side after they hammered City 3-0 at Ashton Gate.

It was a bad day for City who failed to test Canaries keeper John Ruddy with a serious attempt on goal.

Lambert said: ‘It was a tremendous performance by the lads. Ashton Gate is never an easy place to get a result and, even though Bristol City are struggling at the moment, we had to play well.

‘But no-one is getting carried away at this early stage of the season. Through a combination of having good players at the club already and bringing in some talented new ones, we have adapted well to life in the Championship.

‘We haven’t changed the way we play. We work hard and then the ability the players have produces victories.

‘From John Ruddy right through the team we have players who gave everything today and we took our goals well.’
