Bristol City manager Sean O’Driscoll will be waiting on the results of three late tests on players ahead of the game with Birmingham City on Tuesday night.

The game at Ashton Gate will see three regulars being checked over for injuries they picked up in the home defeat to Bolton on Saturday. Liam Fontaine and Stephen Pearson both collected ankle knocks while Lewin Nyatanga ended up with a broken nose.

Cole Skuse went under the knife for a knee cartilage problem and that rules him out for the rest of the season.

Striker Jon Stead is not ready to return to the side after he suffered a groin injury.

It may be a sour night for the Robins even if they manage to win because if Blackburn or Peterborough win then City will be confirmed as relegated.

Birmingham come to Ashton Gate after having an extra day’s rest as they played on Friday and pulled off a creditable 2-2 draw with Leicester City thanks to a stoppage time penalty from Chris Burke, they also have the advantage of having no new injury problems in the camp following the game at the King Power Stadium.

Returning to action was Shane Ferguson who is on loan from Newcastle United; he will travel with the squad and will more than likely start.

Midfielder Jonathan Spector is unlikely to make his return after suffering an ankle injury, taking their places on the sidelines with him will be Keith Fahey, Marlon King, Stephen Carr, David Murphy and Will Packwood.
