Bristol City take on Birmingham City at St Andrews this weekend and the man who will take charge of proceedings is Mark Brown of East Yorkshire.

Brown took charge of one game involving Bristol City last term, that was the 2-2 draw at home to Barnsley on 28th March. The only yellow card of that game was shown to the Tykes Jabo Ibehre, now of Carlisle United.

Interestingly, Brown was the man in the middle for a couple of Birmingham games last season, the final one coming in their last game of the season at Bolton, a game which they won 1-0. Brown showed five yellow cards that day.

Last season Brown took charge of 34 games during which time he produced the yellow card 79 times and the red card seven.

This season Brown has taken charge of seven games so far and has shown 12 yellow cards, just one of those games was in the Championship, (Preston 1 Ipswich 2, four bookings.)

Brown’s assistants on Saturday will be Robert Merchant and Andrew Laver, the fourth official will be Christopher Sarginson.
