After watching his side go from a goal up to lose the game to Bristol City, Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy was left fuming.

When Daryl Murphy put the visitors in front, it looked like Ipswich were going to be the latest club to inflict misery on the Robins.

But City were in no mood to give the game away this time and equalised through Steven Davies before Jon Stead came up with a late winner for the home side, much to the delight of most of the Ashton Gate crowd.

McCarthy was visibly angry after the game when he told Sky Sports: ‘I’m angry, livid and totally devastated.

‘One long ball has taken out three of our defenders for the winner and that simply shouldn’t happen. It was a dreadful goal to concede.

‘We had a great chance to go 2-0 up in the first half and opportunities to win the game near the end. I should be happy because we played well for long periods.

‘But that means nothing. We should not have lost and my weekend will have a black cloud hanging over it.’
