Stephen Pearson, the man on loan from Derby, left his mark on the win over Burnley at Ashton Gate on Saturday, weighing in with a 42 minute goal that sent the Robins on their way.

There was a bit of good fortune about the goal, but they all count. A Ryan McGivern cross from the left struck him on the thigh to wrong-foot goalkeeper Lee Grant.

Two minutes after the break the visitors pulled themselves level through Ross Wallace.

New man Pearson then turned goal-provider when he sent a cross in from the left that Brett Pitman volleyed home on the hour mark.
Albert Adomah added a brilliant third goal on 72 minutes with an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box.

City manager Derek McInnes said: ‘It’s a monkey off our backs and hopefully the players will feel more comfortable going into our next home game.

‘We have sent our supporters home happy and I couldn’t be happier with the players, who have worked really hard on the training ground since I arrived.

‘We will use the international break to rest some of them and work others who have not been involved as much. It could not have come at a better time for us because we have had a really good week.

‘Seven points from tough games against Barnsley, West Ham and Burnley is a great return. But not everything in the garden is rosy yet and we will continue to look to improve in all aspects of our game.’
