Bristol City boss Derek McInnes conceded that Crawley were the better side after watching his team go out of the FA Cup in the 3rd round.

Crawley had the chances to have won the game by a bigger margin after hitting the post twice before Matt Tubbs opened the scoring.

McInnes had to admit that his side should have been able to have dealt with their opponent`s threat in front of goal.

The Robins boss said: ‘They get the ball forward really quickly to the big fella (Tyrone) Barnett, they throw the ball into the box from just about anywhere and they play a certain way that I think suits them.

‘It’s very difficult to deal with, but there were no surprises for us and that’s what disappoints me most about the performance.

‘We worked extremely hard against them but we didn’t show enough quality in terms of possession. We had to make sure that we brought our game to them but you can have all the excuses in the world.’
