Bristol City manager Derek McInnes pointed out that it was his players working hard that has turned around the run of results since he arrived at the club.

City looked more menacing than Millwall at the Den and two goals from Nicky Maynard made sure that the points came back to Ashton Gate after this encounter.

In total, City have 10 points from the five games that McInnes has been in charge of, but he made sure it was his players that took the credit.

The City manager said: ‘The players are working very hard.

‘They’ve got used to winning again which is important, when you are on a poor run it’s hard to see where the next win is coming from.

‘They have been really receptive and shown a determination to make things better.

‘We are still in a poor position but we look a hard team to beat and we have a cutting edge.’
