Derek McInnes was spitting sparks at half time at Ashton Gate on Saturday after he witnessed his side put in the worst 45 minute display ever.

The boos were clearly heard at the end of the first have amid calls for the manager’s head after again showing that he could well be out of his depth with Bristol City.

On today’s showing, the League One seems to be inevitable unless McInnes manages to completely turn around the fortunes of the club and I very much doubt that he can do that.

City now have no home win in three months and McInnes had to concede that the fans were entitled to be browned off.

McInnes told reporters: ‘We lost the physical battles and it was a very poor performance.

‘It was on the back of two decent away displays and I didn’t see it coming. We never got to grips with the Wolves front two all game and our fans are entitled to be upset.

‘Being booed off is never nice, but I can understand their feelings. After we lost the first goal we capitulated and Wolves grew in confidence.’
