No Bids For Bryan Or Flint

Lee Johnson has categorically denied Bristol City have received bids for any players. Joe Bryan and Aden Flint are the ones most strongly linked with speculation about Ashton Gate exits.

Commenting directly after the victory at Cheltenham, which saw Bristol City retain the Johnson Cup, the boss said the Robins hadn’t received any offers for the defenders and wasn’t welcoming them either.

He admitted to the Official Website rumours weren’t helpful but Johnson feels they are focused enough to ignore it.

‘We haven`t had any bids. Sometimes it`s agents trying to create a market and sometimes it`s clickbait headlines trying to generate advertising money. It`s not always conducive to the players` focus, but they`re two good lads and there`s nothing in it.’

Meanwhile, Johnson took the chance to look at an unnamed trialist at Whaddon Road.

Johnson, who wouldn’t reveal the identity of the player, was willing to confirm them as an 18 year old with a background in non-league football.

His potential arrival at Ashton Gate, should he do enough in training, on top of the 18 minutes at Cheltenham, to impress Johnson into a deal would see him take up a place in the U23 squad initially.
