Bristol City are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Callum O’Dowda in the two nil victory over Cardiff City at the weekend at Ashton Gate was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why O’Dowda was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘It`s now three league wins on the bounce for Bristol City after getting the better of Cardiff City at Ashton Gate. Callum O`Dowda opened the scoring in the Severnside derby with a sweet strike, and was a constant threat all afternoon as the Robins closed the gap on the Bluebirds in the Championship standings.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to O’Dowda for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Darren Randolph (Middlesbrough), Zeki Fryers (Barnsley), Yoann Barbet (Brentford), Ben Turner (Burton Albion), Jordan Spence (Ipswich Town), Callum O’Dowda (Bristol City), Jacob Butterfield (Sheffield Wednesday), Ruben Neves (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Gary Madine (Bolton Wanderers), Leon Clarke (Sheffield United), Tyler Walker (Nottingham Forest).

Manager – Jaap Stam (Reading).
