It isn’t the first time Bristol City boss Lee Johnson has reportedly planned a raid on his former club Barnsley, in fact Josh Scowen’s name has actually been mentioned, as it has again.

According to the Sun, via Get West London, Bristol City are one of a quartet of Championship clubs interested in signing Barnsley’s Scowen – QPR, Nottingham Forest and Preston the others.

His contract at Oakwell will expire at the end of the month allowing Scowen, 24, to leave Barnsley on a free transfer. Competition is fierce for the versatile midfielder, who can also play at full back, so Bristol City have a fight to land him.

All being well Johnson’s previous working with Scowen can be enough to lure him to Ashton Gate? We’ll find out soon enough one way or another.

However, having already departed Bristol City, Mark Little has now found a new club.

Johnson opted against offering the right back a new deal at the end of his three season stay at Bristol City but Championship rivals Bolton feel Little, 28, has a big amount to offer as they’ve taken him to the Macron Stadium on a two year deal.
