Bristol City have rubbished claims that they have turned down a bid from Burnley for striker Nicky Maynard.
There have been reports that Burnley had made an offer of £3.75 million for the 23 year old but City say this is far from the truth.
Maynard cost the Robins just over £2 million when they acquired him from Crewe and after knocking in 20 goals last season, there have been a number of clubs taking a long look at the player.
It is thought that if City were to listen to bids then £3.75 million would be well short and offers of around five million would be more likely to gain the interest of the club, but at the moment he goes nowhere.
A club spokesman said: ‘We have had no formal offer for any of our players.’
