Robins Win Away

Bristol City’s Championship season continued with a two-one against Huddersfield at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday, a second on their travels this term so far.

The lead came early on for Bristol City when Jonathan Kodjia got on the end of a Marlon Pack freekick to head home but Huddersfield then had a chance to level from the penalty spot but Robins ‘keeper Frank Fielding saved Emyr Huws’ kick!

Missing, well Fielding saving, that penalty was punished when Bristol City went two-up on half an hour when another set piece delivery (from Luke Freeman this time) was headed in by Aden Flint.

Huddersfield had late hope when Harry Bunn thumped home a goal from 30-yards in the final 10-miniutes but Bristol City saw it through.

The Robins did have Fielding to thank with him again saving late on to deny Kyle Dempsey an equaliser with Joe Lolley and Dempsey (before that) having chances for Huddersfield that went close in the second half too.

The other results were.

Friday 11th December 2015
Blackburn 1-0 Rotherham
Wolves 1-1 Nottm Forest

Saturday 12th December 2015
MK Dons 0-1 Ipswich
Cardiff 2-2 Sheff Wed
Charlton 0-0 Leeds
Derby 2-2 Brighton
Fulham 2-2 Brentford
Huddersfield 1-2 Bristol City
Hull 1-0- Bolton
Middlesbrough 0-0 Birmingham
Preston 1-0 Reading
QPR 0-0 Burnley

Looking at these results the stand out ones (as such, Bristol City aside) have to be the wins for Ipswich and Preston for me?

Ipswich winning one-nil at MK Dons saw the Tractor Boys into the play-off places and as much as that win wasn’t a surprise in many way they did win it was another good win that sets them up nicely and saw Mick McCarthy celebrate his MotM win with a victory!

Preston followed up the win at Burnley with another when managerless Reading continued to struggle (and dropped to 12th) at Deepdale with the Lilywhites victorious one-nil.
