Championship side Southampton have come up with a £400,000 bid for Bristol City centre half Liam Fontaine.
The club are reported to be mulling over the offer but the club are already short on players for that position
The 25-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season.
Since joining City on a permanent basis in 2006, Fontaine has made nearly 200 appearances and found the net five times.
