Trundle Heads Home To Swansea

Lee Trundle has returned to Swansea on a loan deal until January 1st 2010.

The flambouyant scouse striker, 32, became City’s record signing two years ago when signing from the Swans in a deal worth £1m and has signed in time to be considered for Swansea’s home game with Watford on Saturday.

Trunds fell out of favour with Gary Johnson last season, reportedly over his perceived lack of work-rate and weight issues.

But Trundle couldn’t hide his delight at the move and told BBC Sport: “I can’t wait to get back.
“They don’t play my type of game nor did I fit in in within a certain squad and you’ve got to get on with it because it happens to the best players in the world sometimes.
“Hopefully I can kick-start myself again at the club I love.”

He was farmed out on loan to League One Leeds with little success last season, notching only the one goal.

Talking about the move to bcfc.co.uk, Johnson retorted: “It’s good that Lee can go and get games.

“He wasn’t in our future plans. However, he’s now gone to a place where he’s very comfortable and has the chance to play football.“

Thankfully, City have insisted Trundle cannot play when the two sides clash next month at the Liberty Stadium and the same will apply if the Swans choose to extend the loan beyond the New Year.
