Bristol City head to The Matchroom Stadium for the New Years day enocounter with Leyton Orient.

City head to Leyton on the back of a hard earned 2-1 home victory over Port Vale at the weekend, that saw the return of Steve Brooker back to goalscoring form.

City travelled to London on New Years eve, with Liam Fontaine included in the travelling party, after recovering from his foot injury that he picked up in the away draw at Cheltenham. Gary Johnson has the opportunity to pick from a fully fit squad for the first time this season, with Johnson reporting that all twenty first teamers would be travelling to London, giving him the option to alter his squad at any point should he choose to.

Orient head into the fixture with star player Luke Gutteridge returning from his one match ban for his sending off in Orients 2-1 defeat at Gillingham in December. Orients only new injury concern is for Wayne Corden who picked up a late injury in the O’s draw at Rotherham at the weekend, ex City loanee Joe Keith is set to deputise if necessary.

Of course City have already returned with a win from Orient this season with City coming from a goal down to win 3-1 in their Johnstones Paint Trophy tie back in November, City scorers that night were on loan Bradley Corr, Phil Jevons and Richard Keogh.

City will be looking for maximum points with second place Nottingham Forest being away at third place Oldham Athletic on Monday as well.
