Crystal Palace assistant manager and ex-Robin’s boss Keith Millen has sent his old club a warning ahead of the Capital One cup tie at Ashton Gate.

Millen wants nothing less than a win over the club that gave him his marching orders two years ago.

Millen says that Palace will not be treating the competition like a joke and Ian Holloway’s side will take no firing up to get that victory.

He told reporters: ‘We have a strong squad and, while I wouldn’t rule out changes from the game at Stoke on Saturday, we will be sending out a team well capable of winning the game.

‘It obviously means a lot to Ian and I, given our respective backgrounds, but in any case the Capital One Cup is a competition we can harbour genuine hopes of winning.

‘A couple of victories and some decent luck with the draws and excitement will grow, so we will be giving it everything in the early rounds.’
