Bristol City defender James Wilson is set to join Cheltenham Town on loan.

The 24 year old has not been able to command a regular place in the side since Sean O’Driscoll took over although he has been given numerous chances in the side.

And with Derrick Williams and Aden Flint arriving in the summer, it looks very much like this is his final season at Ashton Gate what with his contract running out at the end of the current term.

Louis Carey is back and City also have James O’Connor so Wilson has slipped far enough down the pecking order to not even make the bench on match days.

So a move to Whaddon Road should see him get some much needed first team football, the deal may even turn into a permanent move.
