City’s on-loan left-back Gary Sawyer is set to be given another chance to show what he can do in Sunday’s televised clash with Blackpool.

The Plymouth left-back impressed in the weekend defeat of Derby at Ashton Gate, after finally being given a chance due to Liam Fontaine’s injury.

The 24-year-old was Gary Johnson’s last signing when joining on an emergency loan in March and he could well find himself at Ashton Gate next season after turning down a new deal at Home Park.

Caretaker manager Keith Millen told BBC Radio Bristol: “He did really well and has another game to impress (on Sunday).

“Then I’ll sit down with the manager and discuss what we’re going to do in the summer.”

“Gary has played 30-odd games in the Championship for Plymouth so we knew he was good enough.”

Argyle were relegated to League One earlier this month.
