Louis Carey believes that getting the better of Peterborough’s highly-rated forwards will be the key to maintaining our unbeaten run at the Gate tomorrow.

With City fans eager to see their side put on a show after a two-week international break, Carey’s under no illusions as to the task that faces them.

George Boyd, Aaron McLean and Craig Mackail-Smith have bagged 117 goals between them in just over two seasons at London Road.

“Those three are all Championship class and make no mistake,” the City captain told the Bristol Evening Post.

“People are saying Peterborough have only won once in 11 games and that they are favourites to go back down, but they have some dangerous players.

“McLean, Mackail-Smith and Boyd have scored goals for fun in League One and League Two and they have the ability to carry that form into the Championship.

“They may be at the wrong end of the league and under pressure, but their forwards are capable of winning any game, no matter who they come up against.”

Carey came up against the Posh in last season’s Carling Cup First Round, where strikes from Carey and Steve Brooker were enough to earn 2-1 win and a Second Round tie at Crewe.
