Bristol City manager Keith Millen takes his side to Ipswich this weekend knowing that if anything is to come from this season then things will have to change around about now.

Stop shipping goals in may help.

Jon Stead

‘I’ll be happy if I score a goal, don’t get me wrong,’ he told the Bristol Evening Post,

‘But I won’t go crazy or anything like that. There will be no celebration.

‘It’s a case of being respectful. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and the fans were great to me. They got behind me and backed me, even when I wasn’t playing well, and that’s something I’ll always remember.

‘I certainly won’t be rubbing it in if I score on Saturday.

‘I definitely don’t have anything to prove to the manager at Ipswich. I’m more concerned with doing a good job for Bristol City and putting my career back on track.’

Ipswich Town Team News:

Ipswich striker Jason Scotland could be handed his first start for his new club this weekend.

Scotland played 75 minutes of the 1-0 Carling Cup win at Crewe in midweek as he builds up match fitness following his move from Wigan.

Town will be without winger Andros Townsend after he was sent off in the 2-1 win at Crystal Palace. He serves the second game of a three-match ban.

Centre-half Gareth McAuley has recovered from a back injury and winger Carlos Edwards returned from a groin problem to score at Selhurst Park.

Nifty winger, scored at Selhurst Park.

Bristol City Team News:

Kalifa Cisse has given City some much-needed good news on the injury front by declaring himself fit.

Sidelined since suffering a recurrence of a thigh strain during a pre-season friendly at Yeovil on July 28, the Mali international made his comeback in a behind-closed-doors practice match against Aldershot this week.

Fellow midfielder Cole Skuse is likely to miss out after he sustained a knee injury in the 3-3 home draw against Barnsley last weekend.

Lee Johnson and Gavin Williams offer manager Keith Millen options, but he may decide to recall the combative Cisse now that he has proved his fitness.

Strikers Brett Pitman and Jon Stead both go into the squad after joining the Robins on three-year deals this week – Stead making an immediate return to Portman Road.

Skipper Louis Carey (heel) is also pushing for a first-team recall after featuring against Aldershot, while fellow defender Christian Ribeiro played 90 minutes in that game for the first time since recovering from a back problem.

Ribeiro still lacks match sharpness but Carey is ready to answer the call if Millen needs his experience at Portman Road.
