A ‘complete performance’ was how Charlton manager Chris Powell described the way his side played during the 2-0 win over Bristol City on Sunday.

City once again went down; making it seven defeats on the bounce now for Derek McInnes, but this latest defeat came without City managing to get on the score sheet.

Charlton were up for this one from the off, they looked confident and determined to come away from Ashton Gate with a win, City on the other hand were out of the game from when the first goal went in.

Danny Haynes and Michael Morrisson netted for the Addicks, giving them
back to back wins for the first time this season, while at the back, the Charlton back line managed to cope with everything that the Robins could put together.

Powell told the Press Association: ‘It was the complete performance as far as we were concerned; it’s the first time this season we have been able to say that.

‘The midweek victory over Cardiff gave us confidence and today we defended solidly when we had to, as well as causing problems going forward.

‘City were desperate for the points themselves so I am thrilled we competed so well. It is a result and a performance to build on.’
