Bristol City take on Nottingham Forest on Saturday and we have some early team news ahead of the trip.

After a couple of defeats, Forest are looking to get back on track with a win over City who was themselves thrashed by Brighton at Ashton Gate last time out.

Forest will have to cope without any input from winger Oliver Burke who has been ruled out of action for the foreseeable future after breaking a bone in his hand.

He could be out of action for anything between one and five weeks.

Back in contention for a place is Ryan Mendes who has been suffering with a groin problem.

Also out are Andy Reid (groin), Daniel Pinillos (knee), Henri Lansbury (ankle) and Britt Assombalonga (knee).

For City, Nathan Baker underwent a scan to prove that he has no tear on an Achilles injury and will be hoping to be considered for a place. He missed the Brighton defeat after being subbed in the win away to MKDons.

Mark Little took Baker’s place against Brighton, but recent injuries to both his groin and foot means he will face late tests.

came on as a second-half substitute against Brighton but will also be checked out following recent groin and foot injuries.

Full-back Luke Ayling is back on the training ground after recovering from a knee injury.

Goalkeeper Frank Fielding played his first game since January because of a rib injury, is fit again.
